HTTP3 – The Internet is about to get faster! (The Cyber Underground)
QUICK UDP INTERNET CONNECTIONS (QUIC) aka: HTTP/3, is an experimental protocol, created by Google in an effort to speed up the Internet. The existing protocols that we use today involve a number of round-trips for transmission of data. QUIC reduces these round-trips resulting in a data transmission efficiency improvement of more than 30%. This isn’t the first Internet protocol breakthrough by Google to be universally adopted. HTTP/2 (aka: SPDY) was also a Google creation that sped up the Internet by 50%. The host for this episode is Dave Stevens. The guest for this episode is Hal Corcoran.
