Has the Intifada Come to the US (Keeping the World Company)
Has the Intifada Come to the US; How is BDS Affecting our Universities (Keeping the World Company). The host for this show was Jay Fidell. The guests were Jean Rosenfeld, Max Samarov, Daphne Desser and Robert Littman.
The discussion was: Our panel discusses the activities of the BDS movement in the US, particularly the demands is it making at the University of Michigan and other schools. Who is behind it. Who is organizing it. Who is funding it. Is direction and support coming from Palestinian, terrorist or Iranian sources. Why is it making these demands and what does it ultimately hope to achieve. What is the relationship between these demands and the protests that took place earlier this summer. Is this an expression of antisemitism or something else. How are Jewish students, families and organizations affected. What effect does the BDS movement have politically on the presidential and downballot elections coming in November and on US foreign policy. The movement seems to be growing in strength. Will it get worse or will it atrophy. How long will it last and what is its logical end point. What can Jews and Jewish students do to deal with it. What can these universities do to deal with it. What can state and federal governments do to deal with it.
The takeaway was: The anticipated takeaway from the show is: We need to follow the BDS movement to see what is doing, who is running and funding it, and what should be done to deal with it.
