Screams then Silence, a Film by Cheryl Sandberg; How it Has Become a Football in the Propaganda Hybrid War Waged by Hamas (Keeping the World Company). The hosts for this show were Jay Fidell and Tim Apicella. The guests were Jean Rosenfeld and Chuck Crumpton.

The discussion was: Propaganda has been deliberately employed as a weapon of war since World War I. In the
aftermath, Eugen Hadamovsky who was Joseph Goebbels radio tech and second to him
in the management of National Socialist propaganda against Hitler’s enemies and the Jews,
deliberately developed a sophisticated set of narratives to counter the Allies propaganda
against the Germans. He also broadcast antisemitism to the German people, who initially
supported Hitler to revive the German economy during the Great Depression, in order that
Hitler’s policy of Lebensraum would be energized by his intention of exterminating the
Jewish people of Europe.

Hamas is utilizing propaganda to turn global sentiment against Israel and the Jews once
again. It is necessary to weaponize words in order to nullify the impact of Hamas’s Oct. 7
attack on Israel and in particular, its brutal rapes and murders of Israeli women.

The Electronic Intifada group videotape tries to impugn witnesses to the atrocities and
curate the initial UN report to misrepresent its conclusion. It attempts to undermine the
two NYT articles by Gettelmen that, along with Sandburg’s documentary, argue that
the rapes and murders were preplanned and systematic.

Given that the IDF left the 1200 or more victims of the attack undefended for a day, that
Hamas provided amphetamines to its operators, Israeli responders and volunteers were
overwhelmed with the numbers and condition of the dead, that no autopsies were performed,
and that Jewish law enjoins burial as soon as possible, the Israelis were stunned and
unable to simultaneously conduct a rigorous forensic investigation.

A surprise attack combined with a failure of the armed forces to anticipate, confront, or
come to the aid of the civilians also created an inability to focus on the likelihood that
the enemy would distort and disinform the world about its terror inflicted on peaceful
victims.

A careful reading of the presentations by both sides leads to a conclusion that the rapes
and atrocities were deliberate and that women were particularly targeted. Hamas tapes
of victims harmed and corpses of women paraded through Gaza, although few in number compared
to the reports received, leads to the conclusion that Hamas committed crimes against humanity
on Oct. 7.

The takeaway was: We need to understand, and if possible participate in the war against disinformation and rank propaganda.
