First Responders Oppose Vaccine Mandate (Hawaii Together)
Governor’s Vaccine Mandate Challenged. A class action lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court on Friday for City and County workers who believe they are being forced to take the COVID- 19 vaccine or face termination. Attorneys Shawn A. Luiz and Kristin Cocarro say “Honolulu County workers want reasonable testing mandates, not vaccine mandates. They want the same options being afforded to neighbor island City and County workers who are now required to test weekly if they chose not to get vaccinated. County workers are not opposed to others taking the vaccine. This lawsuit is not about being anti-vaccine. There are plaintiffs and attorneys involved in this case who have been fully vaccinated. This is about a personal, autonomous healthcare decision, and everyone should make their own choice, whether they want to take the vaccine or not. They’re asking for the chance to choose.”
