Educational Gems in the Pacific (Journeys of the Mind)
Educational Gems in the Pacific; /=St Andrews Schools (Journeys of the Mind). The host for this show was Carl Ackerman. The guest was Ruth Fletcher.
The discussion was: A conversation with President and Head of School of St. Andrews Schools in Honolulu will explain how St. Andrews successfully educates both girls and boys in Hawai’i, but for the most part, separately. Once only a girls’ school, this highly successful model for education is not known well in Hawai’i; also St. Andrew’s Schools has a deep history in Hawai’i with ties to both Hawaiian Royalty and the Episcopal Church
The takeaway was: While the names Punahou, Iolani and MidPacific, etc. are often discussed among people in Hawai’i, St. Andrew’s Schools, which are just as successful as these three academic powerhouses, and because it is like Kamehameha Schools with a deep connection to the Hawaiian Monarchy, our discussion will expose all in Hawai’i to these educational gems.
