On Hawaii Together. We’ve all heard the claim that Hawaii’s Public Schools lack the needed funds for adequate teacher salaries and classroom resources. As a result, numerous efforts have been launched to increase taxes and other revenue sources for education. But is funding the problem, and if so, how do we know? Ray L’Hereux, a former DOE assistant superintendent raises these questions and discusses an investigative project designed to reveal whether lack of funding is the real problem in the Department of Education.

The host for this episode is Keli’i Akina.
