TEDxHonolulu FLOW: Communication and Science – Quincy Solano, Andrei Natarov and Ruby Menon
Andrei Natarov writes that “communicating science to the public needs to be based on FLOW ideas, and while it’s necessary to be precise in communicating science, being precise is not nearly as painful as many assume!” Andrei is a researcher at the International Pacific Research Center, School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology (SOEST) at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, whose research takes him around the globe. He uses dynamics of FLOW –a combination of challenges and rewards, the familiar and the mind-blowing– to demonstrate how science can help us better understand our world and make better decisions as we recognize the role science plays in all aspects of modern civilization.
