KUPU Empowers Hawaii’s Youth – Ka’iulani Laeha, June Chee, Kamuela Bannister and Sydney Tureaud
Ka’iulani Laeha, June Chee, Kamuela Bannister and Sydney Tureaud highlight the incredible programs that Kupu currently provides to youth in Hawai’i and the Green Jobs Training Facility that we are planning on renovating.
About Kupu: Established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2007, Kupu’s mission is “to empower youth to serve their communities through character-building, service-learning, and environmental stewardship opportunities that encourage integrity (pono) with God (Ke Akua), self, and others.” Kupu’s programs (HYCC, RISE, CommunityU, E2U) provide environmental service learning, internships, and fellowship positions that teach leadership skills, cultural awareness, and civic engagement. Kupu’s programs also assist Hawaiʻi’s young adults and at-risk youth gain work experience in the green jobs sector.
