Deborah Zimmerman, President of New Millenium Meetings, and Reg Baker, CPA, of have joined the board of directors of ThinkTech Hawaii, Inc.
Deborah Zimmerman, as President of New Millennium Meetings, specializes in convention sales and is contracted by the Hawaii Tourism Authority to manage the HTA `Elele Ambassador program.
A 20-year veteran of the visitor industry, Ms. Zimmerman worked at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in convention sales for 13 years prior to launching her own business. In her work for the HTA, Ms. Zimmerman partners with community leaders interested in lobbying with the visitor industry to attract mutually beneficial meetings and conventions to the Hawaiian Islands.
Ms. Zimmerman’s interest in science and technology developed after homeschooling her two sons. This experience helped her realize that Hawaii is a living laboratory for scientific exploration. Through her professional work she has grown to appreciate the caliber of scientists and engineers working in our community, as well as their global influence.
Reg Baker, a CPA/PFS and nationally recognized Small and Mid-Sized Business (SMB) Specialist, owns and operates a locally based CPA firm that provides accounting consulting, tax and wealth management services to the small and mid-sized business market. Mr. Baker has over 30 years’ experience providing service to and managing small and mid-sized companies.
Mr. Baker is the former Executive VP for HMAA; one of the largest health insurance companies in Hawaii. Mr. Baker’s industry experience includes start-ups, healthcare, aviation, manufacturing, retail, non-profit, professional services, real estate management and development, entertainment, media and stressed companies.
Mr. Baker has been a very active community service volunteer. In addition to his SBA responsibilities, he is Hawaii State Chairman of Junior Achievement of Hawaii, Chairs the Small Business and Entrepreneur Committee for the Hawaii Chamber of Commerce and served on the Board of the Hawaii Association of Health Plans.
