SHERILYN LAU is an Educational Specialist for Career and Technical Education (CTE), Perkins Federal Programs, at the Hawaii State Department of Education. As a CTE Educational Specialist, she is responsible for designing programs that support students becoming “college and career ready”. Sherilyn has been instrumental in developing the career pathway system which provides the framework for the delivery of CTE standards that guide student learning. The Career Pathway structure helps students successfully transition to the workforce and other postsecondary opportunities. A graduate from University of Hawaii, Manoa, she holds Masters in Secondary Business Education and Business Administration. She is also a graduate of the Sacred Path Healing Schools and volunteers her time. Sherilyn has also worked as a high school business teacher, a University of Hawaii Community College lecturer, a state resource teacher for CTE, a CTE program evaluator, and a Vice-President of curriculum for a No Child Left Behind Service provider. She is a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, an honorary society of women educators, and the Federal Law Enforcement Foundation of Hawaii, supported by the National Citizens Academy Alumni Association.
