LISA MARUYAMA is president and CEO of the Hawai`i Alliance of Nonprofit Organizations, a statewide nonprofit working to strengthen and unite Hawaii’s nonprofit sector as a collective force to improve the quality of life in Hawaii. She served previously as vice president of public affairs for Brightlight Marketing. For most of her career, Lisa served as executive director for various nonprofit organizations in Hawaii in the fields of mental health advocacy and international education. Her particular focus is in strategic thinking for systems change, nonprofit management, strategic communications and marketing, program development, sector level public policy issues and government relations. Lisa is currently on the board of the National Council of Nonprofits and chairs its Public Policy Committee. She recently served on the Real Property Tax Commission, City and County of Honolulu and its Sister State Commission, State of Hawaii. Lisa is a Pacific Century Fellow, Weinberg Fellow, PONO Fellow and was designated Top Forty Under 40 by Pacific Business News in 2001.
